Cleaning Day: a Six-Sentence Story

Published by

on

Larry was at Williams-Sonoma looking for a replacement for their broken vacuum when he saw a representative from DREAME give a full-functioning demonstration to a group of well-heeled shoppers.

“The thing is a mop, too, and even has a self-emptying dock, and it responded to voice commands,” Larry texted Lara, who was at home mopping the kitchen floor.

Lara texted back, “Just get the vacuum we agreed on–like the one that just broke.”

Larry could read Lara’s frustration through the text. Larry guessed that she was on her hands and knees, scrubbing the kitchen floor, and didn’t want to deal with Larry’s blind faith in labor-saving technology.

“Okay, but when a full-size, walking android comes on the market, we’re getting one, then it will be able to dust as well!”

It occurred to me that I usually skip the dusting. Except when it gets really bad.

I love my little robosucker and her little dock. I have a big vacuum too but… If only someone or something did the dusting too.

the jetsons lovely maid rosey… she was kind with a sense of humor and not intrusive at all… the original AI long before it came of age on earth’s crust… great 6SS… some people cannot go for a run to get what you asked without putting their two cents in and returning with an entirely different choice….

She probably knows the drill with these new things, they never live up to the hype once you get them home. Buy the regular vacuum!

Could easily picture this couple and glad to hear Larry listened to Lara. This was a fun one.
