I’m sure the few people who read my blog are tired of me pissing all over John Fisher and my ex-favorite team. “The A’s are even closer now! They are in our hometown!” Or “I was never an A’s fan, but now I can see Major League teams play here in River City!” Still, I couldn’t help but chuckle after seeing the Cubs eviscerate the A’s in their temporary home in their opening series in my hometown of Sacramento. And, as icing on the cake, Dave Samson’s undressing of the A’s and the sorry attempt to turn my River Cats’ minor league venue into a Major League baseball park is priceless.
My wife, a loyal Cubs fan, kept suppressing her excitement as her Cubbies had batting practice with the A’s pitching staff (18-3, 7-4, and 10-2). I kept having to remind her that she could cheer all she wanted; couldn’t she hear me clapping whenever a Cubs batter lit up an A’s hurler? I don’t give a shit anymore and I am rooting for Chicago. In fact I would root for any team against the A’s (except the Yankees and the Dodgers, of course).
I guess the A’s aren’t the only club feeling the rath of unhappy fans.
And my favorite John Fisher hater.
