BURGER SCOOT

I was tabling at the west steps of the Capitol with the Sacramento chapter of the League of Women Voters (a post on my new volunteer gig to come soon) when someone commented on how someday soon my Oakland A’s baseball cap will be an anachronism and that I should buy a Giants cap to replace it. I politely told him I wouldn’t be rooting for the San Francisco franchise any time soon (read: never), but I love their minor league affiliate, the Sacramento River Cats. I also enjoy watching games at the beautiful Oracle Park. He chucked, and before I went into my newly trained LWV script, “Are you registered to vote?” I told him I would ceremoniously burn all my Oakland Athletics merch when the team leaves the Bay Area. If I had the time, though, I would have loved to recite what Brodie Brazil says below.
